Arizona Community Foundation awards $32.3 million in grants

The Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) has announced that it awarded nearly $32.3 million in grant and scholarship distributions during the first quarter of its fiscal year.

More than 2,500 discretionary and advised grants and scholarships were awarded in five strategic priority areas: health innovations, community improvement and development, environment and sustainability, arts and culture, and quality education. Recipients include Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona, East Valley Jewish CC, and Grow Education Outdoors. Nearly $7.2 million in grants were funded through ACF’s ongoing partnerships with Maricopa County and the city of Phoenix to deliver relief to 584 small businesses and nonprofit organizations impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, 72 organizations with agency endowments managed by ACF received their annual distributions, which accounted for $4.85 million.

“During our first quarter, ACF donors have continued to show why Arizona philanthropy matters,” said ACF president and CEO Steve Seleznow. “It’s because of them, and the resiliency of our state’s nonprofits, that we’re able to champion those we serve.”
