Arizona Community Foundation Awards $67 Million in Fiscal Year 2018
The Arizona Community Foundation has announced grant, scholarship, and loan distributions totaling more than $67 million from its own funds and statewide affiliates in Cochise, Flagstaff, the Gila Valley, Sedona, Yavapai County, and Yuma.
Made during the fiscal year that ended March 31, the distributions include grants and scholarships totaling nearly $20 million, including $5.1 million in college scholarships to 1,757 Arizona students; $19.1 million to 2,404 organizations working in the areas of health, health care, medical research, and human services; $10.5 million to 554 programs in the area of community improvement and development; $3.9 million to 398 organizations and programs in the areas of environment and sustainability; and $3.6 million to 448 organizations in the area of arts and culture.
The foundation and its partners also invested more than $6.3 million in below-market loan funding for four organizations through its Community Impact Loan Fund, including $450,000 to Desert Stages Theatre, $3 million to LISC Affordable Housing, nearly $1.4 million to Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health, and $1.5 million to Catholic Charities MANA House. In addition, more than a hundred nonprofit organizations with dedicated agency endowments managed by ACF received their annual distributions, accounting for the remaining $3.9 million distributed during the fiscal year.
