Blank Family Foundation Awards $3 Million to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has announced a $3 million gift from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation in support of its Child Protection Center.
Made in honor of Arthur Blank's wife, Stephanie, a longtime supporter of the center and a member of the Children's Foundation board of trustees, the gift will enable the newly renamed Stephanie V. Blank Center for Safe and Healthy Children to continue to promote the safety and well-being of children through community advocacy and the identification, assessment, and prevention of child abuse.
The foundation also announced that it had awarded $150,000 to create a transition patient room in the Sibley Heart Center at CHOA, while a third grant from the foundation will enable Children's Healthcare to purchase a GlideScope Video Laryngoscope, which is used for difficult pediatric intubations.
"Protection against child abuse, neglect, and maltreatment are areas of personal interest and passion for my wife, as well as concerns of our family foundation," said Arthur Blank, who chairs the Blank Family Foundation. "Stephanie has always been a strong advocate for underserved children. In honoring her twelve years of service to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta — the last five as board chair of the Children's Foundation — we want to make a difference in an area about which Stephanie cares deeply."
