Bonfils-Stanton Foundation awards $2 million for Denver arts, culture
Bonfils-Stanton Foundation (BSF) in Denver has announced arts and culture grants totaling more than $2 million.
The grants will provide support to a diverse range of organizations bolstering Denver’s cultural landscape and residents’ access to art and culture. In June, BSF announced a new strategic framework, which made intentional the foundation’s decade-long shift toward prioritizing equitable arts and culture and nonprofit leadership in the region.
Recipients include Denver Civic Arts Foundation, which was awarded $1 million over four years, in support of renovations to a theater in the Loretto Heights/Harvey Park neighborhood, a diverse community that lacks a robust performing arts center; Equity in Arts Education (Think 360 Arts for Learning, fiscal sponsor), which will receive $600,000 over three years in support of a new strategic framework initiative; Diversity in the Arts Internship, which was awarded $120,000 over three years for general operating support; and the Denver Art Museum, which will receive the ninth installment of a 10-year, $350,000 grant supporting renovations to the museum’s north building.
“Nurturing the arts and culture community is at the heart of our foundation’s mission,” said BSF director of grants Gina Ferrari. “By supporting both established and emerging initiatives, we aim to make the arts accessible to everyone in Denver, fostering a more inclusive and vibrant cultural scene.”
