Arizona

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona has announced that its Stone Canyon Community Foundation (SCCF), a donor-advised fund, has awarded grants totaling $445,000 to 27 area nonprofits in its annual grant round. Recipients include Amphi Foundation, Ben’s Bells, Make Way for Books, and SAAVI Services for the Blind.

Indiana

The Indianapolis Foundation has named Drew Black vice president for grantmaking. More than half of Black’s career has been spent at the Central Indiana Community Foundation—of which the Indianapolis Foundation is an affiliate—most recently as director of community leadership. He was also co-creator of the Indianapolis Foundation Racial Equity Framework and a lead facilitator of major community funds, such as the Central Indiana Racial Equity Fund, the Neighbor Relief Fund, and the 16 Tech Community Impact Fund.

Maine

The Maine Community Foundation has announced the addition of three community partners to its community impact team: Caitlyn Barker, Tracey Hair, and Lane Sturtevant. In addition, the foundation added Liz DeLois as director of philanthropy, Nathan Finberg as philanthropy associate, and Amy Minton as director of prospect research.

Michigan

The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, in partnership with the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and Detroit Sports Commission, has announced $288,000 in grants to 15 youth sports organizations through the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds, which focus on regional caregiving, design and access, and youth sports. Recipients include the Clark Park Coalition, Kids on the Go, Free Bikes 4 Kidz, and YMCA of Monroe. Since the legacy funds were established in 2016, more than 190 grants totaling $3.7 million have been awarded to youth sports and recreation organizations in southeast Michigan.

Ohio

The Dayton Foundation has announced 23 discretionary and Greenlight grants totaling $496,975 to address emerging needs and opportunities in the region. The grants will help promote efforts in the arts and culture, health, education, human services, philanthropy and other community-building endeavors. Recipients include Culture Works, Dayton Live, Diabetes Dayton, and the Learning Tree Farm.

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, in partnership with the City of Cincinnati and Interact for Health, has announced grants totaling $834,620 to 41 local nonprofits through the Boots on the Ground Fund. The funding, $650,000 of which was provided by the city, will help strengthen the capacity of small, community-based organizations focused on housing, food and healthcare access, gun violence prevention, workforce and youth development, mental health, and substance use services. Recipients include Arms Around Media, the Cincinnati Black Theatre Company, Elementz, and the Preston Brown Foundation.

Oklahoma

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has announced more than $327,000 in grants through its Access to Health Care Community Grant Program to organizations providing healthcare services, and more than $188,000 in support of parks and public spaces through its Parks & Public Space Initiative. Recipients include the Center for Children and Families, the Limbs for Life Foundation, OKC Beautiful, and Nichols Hills Parks.

Washington

The Seattle Foundation has announced several personnel changes. Katie Draude, who has served as an operations manager since 2020, has been promoted to director of foundation operations. Ana Henderson has been promoted to project manager, funds and advising. Marissa Jackson is now director of learning after serving as a learning manager for the past two years. And Leslie Wallace, who joined the foundation in 2022 as a data and operations specialist, has been promoted to data and strategies manager. In addition, Aileen Balahadia is the foundation’s new director of grantmaking and community engagement. Cat Cuevas is serving as managing director of people and culture. And Ken Takahashi will serve as the foundation’s inaugural director of social impact investing, effective May 1.
