The Community First Foundation in Arvada has announced it is partnering with Jefferson County Public Health to invest $1.7 million in support of infrastructure and capacity-building efforts to build a resilient food system that ensures equitable access to locally produced and nutritious food in Jefferson County. The deadline to apply is July 2.

Connecticut

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has announced the launch of the Action Fund for Racial Justice, which will work to help disrupt existing systemic racism in the Hartford region and encourage building new systems that have equity at their foundation. Funding will be available to address immediate community needs, and grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that are working to dismantle barriers to opportunity for communities of color, rebuild more equitable systems, and/or support those adversely affected by systemic racism. This work must be informed by those most affected by inequity, and preference will be given to organizations working in collaboration with others to address longstanding needs.

Indiana

The Central Indiana Community Foundation has announced that its Indianapolis Foundation affiliate has invested nearly $1.7 million in support of local organizations and initiatives. The funding includes nearly $794,642 in grants, $186,040 in support of investment plans and opportunity funds, and $86,000 from the Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund. The coalition, which has expanded to include fourteen foundations, works to stem the flow of individuals into the criminal justice system, support the investment of public dollars to community-driven alternatives to incarceration, and ensure that those returning home after incarceration receive the support they need to flourish. Grant recipients include the ACLU Fund of Michigan, LINC UP, the Michigan Prison Doula Initiative, and the Youth Justice Fund.

Bachelor had intended to retire at the end of 2020, but extended his plans after the search for his successor was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Frigon, who serves as vice president of philanthropic services, joined the foundation in 2013.

Wisconsin

The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region have announced the formation of the NEW News Lab (Northeast Wisconsin News Lab), a collaborative effort that will provide technology support, capacity building, and additional funding to boost local journalism and newsrooms.
