California

The Santa Barbara Foundation has announced the election of Cathy Pepe, Niki Sandoval, Luis Villegas, and Michael Young to its board.

Louisiana

The Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation has announced that Carmen James Lane is leaving to become vice president of programs at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. In addition to serving the Meyer Foundation for fifteen years, most recently as senior program officer, Lane has served as a founding board member of the Black Philanthropic Alliance, as co-chair of two working groups of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers, as a founding steering committee member of the Education Policy Working Group of Grantmakers for Education, and as national chair of the Youth Transition Funders Group.

Massachusetts

The Chatham Fund of the Cape Cod Foundation has announced that it will award $4,000 in grants over the coming months. Chatham-based organizations working to address hunger, children’s needs, the environment, or other social needs and issues have until midnight, February 13, to apply.

Michigan

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation has announced that the Drug Treatment Court Foundation, which was dissolved at the end of 2013, has transferred its funds to the foundation. The new Drug Treatment Court Fund at KCF will provide a permanent source of revenue for programs that help people repair their lives and choose treatment over incarceration, save taxpayers thousands of dollars annually, and return productive and healthy citizens back to society.

North Carolina

The Salisbury Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Foundation for the Carolinas, has announced grants totaling $80,350 to local nonprofit agencies. Recipients include the Capstone Recovery Center, Families First-NC, the Lee Street Theatre, and the Rape, Child, and Family Abuse Crisis Council of Salisbury.

Ohio

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has announced that its Women's Fund is hosting a conversation with former U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) on March 4. Snowe, author of Fighting for Common Ground: How We Can Fix the Stalemate in Congress, offers a rare glimpse into how women in Congress on both sides of the aisle have been able to work together to overcome make a difference for women. 

Oregon

The Fred W. Fields Fund of the Portland-based Oregon Community Foundation has awarded $30,000 in support of the Miracle Theatre Group, also known as Milagro, Broadway World reports. The theater recently launched a three-year effort to expand its arts education programs, including the hiring and integration of an associate artistic director to steer the touring program and train artist-educators. The OCF award was the largest of four grants the theater received totaling $47,200 in support of arts and health education programming, capacity building, and residencies.
