Florida
The Southwest Florida Community Foundation in Fort Myers has appointed Li-Su Huang Javedan, D. Hugh Kinsey, Jr., Alan Mandel, and Karson Turner to its board of trustees.
Indiana
The Legacy Foundation, the community foundation serving Lake County, has announced more than $760,000 in grants to fifty-nine organizations working to enhance residents' quality of life. Recipients include the Early Learning Partnership of Northwest Indiana, the Heinze Land Trust, Chorus Angelorum, and the Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center.
North Carolina
The Outer Banks Community Foundation in Southern Shores has announced more than $70,000 in grants to twenty-five local charities. Recipients include Room in the Inn, GEM Adult Day Services, the Coastal Studies Institute Foundation, and the Outer Banks Relief Foundation. In addition, the Chicamacomico Historical Association and Ocracoke Alive, which took a hit from Hurricane Arthur this summer, received disaster relief grants.
Ohio
The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has appointed Ruth Werner as its new manager of accounting.
The Tuscarawas County Community Foundation in New Philadelphia has awarded grants totaling $330,048 to local organizations, TimesReporter.com reports. Recipients include the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, Friends of the Homeless, the Safe Kids Coalition, and Trumpet in the Land. In addition, the foundation awarded $14,000 in scholarships to local students.
Washington
The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation has announced that Rose Lincoln Hamilton, who has served as its president and CEO since 2004, will retire in June 2015.
Wisconsin
The Greater Milwaukee Foundation has announced $150,000 in grants in support of thirteen visual arts projects from the Mary L. Nohl Fund and other funds at the foundation. Recipients include Arts@Large, Artists Working in Education, La Casa de Esperanza, and Diverse and Resilient.
