Massachusetts

The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in Sheffield has announced Shelby Jacquier of Cannan, Connecticut, as the winner of the Margaret Derwin "Blue Sky" Scholarship. Jacquier, currently a junior at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, will receive as much as $25,000 annually toward tuition and other costs at a four-year U.S. college or university of her choice and up to $5,000 for an overseas community service program this summer. Since its inception in 2010, the scholarship fund, which is named in memory of a beloved 2005 graduate of Housatonic Valley High, has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships.

The Boston Foundation has named Rosalin Acosta, Zamawa Arenas, J. Keith Motley, and Scott Squillace to its board.

Ohio

The Columbus Foundation has announced its 2015 Summer Fellows. Now in its sixth year, the program provides college students and recent college graduates with the opportunity to work with central Ohio nonprofit organizations over a ten-week period. The thirteen individuals chosen to participate will support a variety of projects, from researching current IT workforce trends and future needs of employers, to educational programming on the importance of good dental health. Nonprofit organizations and prospective fellows submit applications and go through an interview and review process before being chosen for the program. Each fellow will receive a $5,000 stipend.

Oklahoma

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has announced $114,000 in grants to seven charitable organizations through the Opportunities for Children iFund program. Recipients include the Oklahoma City Ballet, Oklahoma's Children's Theater, Positive Tomorrows, and the Hearts for Hearing Foundation.

Pennsylvania

The Pittsburgh Foundation has announced that the Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh grants program, a partnership between the foundation and the Heinz Endowments, has awarded grants totaling $350,000 to twenty-four artists and arts organizations. Launched in 2010 as a partnership between the two foundations, the program is designed to support artistic risk-taking, outreach programming, career opportunities for artists, and strategies designed to promote organizational growth.

Washington

The Seattle Foundation has announced the launch of the Runnin4U Foundation. Established by Seattle Seahawks running back Robert Turbin, the foundation will focus on providing support to individuals with multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. The Seattle Foundation will provide administrative and operational support for Runnin4U's activities and will advise Turbin on the foundation's grantmaking and community partnerships.

Washington, D.C.

The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region has announced that its Greater Washington Workforce Development Collaborative has awarded $25,000 to the D.C. Fiscal Policy Institute in support of research and analysis on issues affecting local workers.
