Arizona

The Arts Foundation for Tucson (AFT) and Southern Arizona and the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona have announced that AFT has become a supporting organization of CFSA. The alignment is expected to improve the integration of arts and culture into all aspects of the Tucson community, ensure the health and vitality of local artists and cultural facilities, and improve the quality of life in the region.

Massachusetts

The Cape Cod Foundation in Yarmouthport has announced scholarships totaling $420,000 to a hundred and thirty-eight local students who are beginning or continuing their higher education or pursuing a certificate program. The Cape Cod Foundation has more than seventy scholarship funds totaling almost $8.5 million in principal that award scholarships annually to students on the Cape.

New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation in Concord has announced a new application process for loan funds. The Nonprofit Loan Program, a component of the foundation's Impact Investment Program, is focused on strengthening nonprofits in the state and helping them achieve greater impact through sound financial management and greater access to working capital. The program makes low-interest loans of between $10,000 and $100,000 to qualifying nonprofits that do not preclude organizations from also receiving grant funding from NHCF. Interest from loans goes back into the loan program for future lending. Since 1971, NHCF has awarded nearly $1.7 million in loans to help organizations purchase land, protect natural resources, provide cash flow, renovate facilities, and other activities.

New York

The Westchester Community Foundation, an affiliate of the New York Community Trust, has announced grants totaling $720,000 to local nonprofits. A total of $335,000 was awarded to a number of organizations, including the Westchester Community College Foundation, the James R. Johnston Scholarship Fund, Yonkers Partners in Education, and Project Morry, to help local youth attend community college. The foundation also awarded $91,000 in support of arts programs in the county and $75,000 in support of legal services for immigrants.

North Carolina

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Foundation for the Carolinas, has announced the opening of its Children, Youth, and Young Adult grant program, which builds on the success of CMCF's Children and Youth program and recommendations by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Opportunity Task Force. Applications to the program will be accepted until noon on August 4.

Ohio

The Dayton Foundation has announced grants totaling $233,520 to eleven organizations through its discretionary grants and Greenlight Grants programs. Recipients include the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, Ohio Robotics, and the Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County. 

Pennsylvania

The Pittsburgh Foundation and Heinz Endowments have announced grants totaling $176,000 in support of individual artists. Awarded through the Investing in Professional Artists program, a collaborative effort of the two foundations to advance arts and culture in the region, the grants will support the creative development of professional artists in the region; create career advancement and recognition opportunities for artists; encourage creative partnerships between local artists and organizations; and increase the visibility of working artists.

South Carolina

The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry in Hilton Head has announced new board officers for fiscal year 2018. They are: John Weymouth, chair; Jeri Farren, vice chair; Jim Allhusen, vice chair; and David Wetmore, treasurer. In addition, the foundation announced the addition of Shirley Peterson, David Rosenblum, Jackie Rosswurm, and James Wagner to its board.

Texas

The Dallas Foundation has announced more than $1.1 million in grants from field-of-interest funds to thirty local nonprofits. Recipients include Friends of Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy, Ability Connection, the Autism Treatment Center, and Senior Citizens of Greater Dallas.

The San Antonio Area Foundation has announced five hundred and eighty-six scholarships totaling more than $2.9 million in support of local college-bound students.
