In 2022, Elon Musk donated shares of Tesla Inc. stock worth $1.95 billion, Reuters reports.

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Musk made the gift between August and December of 2022, though the filing doesn’t identify the recipients. In 2021, Musk made donations of Tesla stock valued at a total of $5.7 billion to unnamed charities, but documentation later revealed that the donation went to the Musk Foundation. 

The second-richest person in the world according to Investopedia and the richest person in the United States, Musk owns 13 percent of Tesla.
