Meyer Memorial Trust Awards $2 Million to Oregon Organizations

The Meyer Memorial Trust in Portland, Oregon, has announced grants totaling more than $2 million to seventeen nonprofit organizations working to advance arts and cultural, education, environmental conservation, health, housing and human service, and youth programming initiatives across the state.

Grants awarded through the foundation's Responsive grants program include $165,000 to Bandon Community Health Center to increase access to primary health care for children and adults in Coos and Northern Curry counties; $100,000 to the Farmers Conservation Alliance in Hood River to support the organization as it implements widespread dissemination of a new irrigation fish screen technology; $150,000 to Garten Services in Salem to support the modernization of its recycling facility and provide more jobs for adults with disabilities and other residents of the community; and $175,000 to Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon to expand entrepreneurial support and micro-lending services in Washington and Columbia counties.

Through its Grassroots grants program, the foundation also awarded $12,500 to Sisters Park and Recreation District to support a transportation program serving children in the Sisters community.
