New England Foundation for the Arts Receives $5.2 Million From Doris Duke Charitable Foundation

The New England Foundation for the Arts has announced a three-year, $5.2 million grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation in support of its National Dance Project.

Launched in 1996, the project has awarded grants totaling more than $25.8 million to encourage the creation of new dance work in the United States. In addition to providing program support, the most recent grant from the foundation will enable NEFA to extend general operating support to recipients of NDP production grants and will fund an evaluation of the program as it approaches its twentieth anniversary.

"For eighteen years, the National Dance Project has fueled the creation and touring of new dance works in the United States," said DDCF program director for the arts Ben Cameron. "We are thrilled to renew our support to this thriving program, which not only has an outstanding history of success but continues to play a powerful role in bringing artists and audiences together."
