Organizations allocate emergency aid to Israelis and Palestinians

Several foundations have announced financial and supply commitments to aid victims of the escalation of violence in Israel and Gaza.

The UJA-Federation New York and Azrieli Foundation each made $10 million commitments in emergency funds for victims in Israel—immediate funds will be allocated to first responders and hospitals. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) announced that its team in Gaza would release all its pre-positioned stocks, worth $570,000, to ensure hospitals and emergency responders have supplies.

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) issued a statement on the escalation of violence in the region and has launched a Palestinian-Israeli Humanitarian Crisis disaster page to monitor the latest updates as well as how to help. CDP’s statement advises philanthropists to center humanity in their giving decisions and encouraged caution and patience. The Council on Foundations has launched a resource page to guide philanthropic giving. The page includes links to various humanitarian relief funds.
