Otto Bremer Trust awards grants, PRIs totaling $11.4 million

The St. Paul-based Otto Bremer Trust has announced grants and program-related investments totaling more than $11.4 million in support of nearly two hundred nonprofits in Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and Wisconsin.

Grant recipients include the Missouri Slope Areawide United Way in Bismarck, North Dakota, which was awarded $325,000 in support of its emergency overnight shelter services and facility; Minneapolis-based Clare Housing, which will receive $105,000 to improve housing stability and health outcomes for people living with HIV in the Twin Cities; Literacy Minnesota in St. Paul, which will use its $200,000 grant to strengthen organizations and programs working to build literacy skills; the Milwaukee-based AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, which will receive $100,000 in support of its comprehensive services for individuals living with or at risk of acquiring HIV; and the American Red Cross of Montana in Great Falls, which was awarded $100,000 to purchase biomedical equipment used for testing, processing, and storing blood. Other recipients include Men As Peacemakers (Duluth, Minnesota; $50,000), Haven (Bozeman, Montana; $100,000), the Family & Children's Center (La Crosse, Wisconsin; $50,000), Wisconsin Literacy (Madison; $125,000), Community Emergency Assistance Programs (Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; $90,000), Presentation Partners in Housing (Fargo, North Dakota; $95,000), and The Consensus Council (Bismarck, North Dakota; $50,000).

"Organizations [across] the region continue to feel the impact of the pandemic, making their needs that much more critical," said Otto Bremer Trust co-CEO and trustee Daniel Reardon. "We are inspired by their resilience during these challenging times."
