The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in New York City has announced the appointment of SHEREE CARTER-GALVAN as its chief legal officer and secretary of the board of trustees. Carter-Galvan previously served as senior vice president and general counsel at the American Museum of Natural History

The Golisano Foundation in Rochester, New York, has announced that executive director ANN COSTELLO will retire, effective June 2. Costello, who has led the foundation since 1999, oversaw its geographic expansion to support organizations in southwest Florida in addition to western and central New York. 

The Heinz Endowments in Pittsburgh has announced the selection of CHRIS DECARDY as president, effective in April. Most recently, DeCardy has been serving as a consultant to foundations and nonprofit organizations. He previously served as acting CEO with the ClimateWorks Foundation.

The Marguerite Casey Foundation in Seattle has announced the election of MEGAN MING FRANCIS to its board of directors. The foundation also announced that board treasurer IAN FULLER has been elected board chair. Most recently, he served as board treasurer.

The Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York City has announced the appointment of CAROLINE BLACK as executive director. Black, who has served the foundation for more than 20 years, was previously a program director and has overseen $65 million in grants and helped spearhead the extension of the foundation’s mission to encompass funding for organizations that directly engage with artists.

The American Council on Education in Washington, D.C., has announced the appointment of JONATHAN S. FANSMITH as senior vice president of government relations, effective February 1. Currently the vice president of government relations, Fansmith will succeed TERRY W. HARTLE, who announced in September that he would be retiring after nearly three decades. 

The Chronicle of Philanthropy, which is preparing to become an independent nonprofit organization this spring, has announced the selection of RODNEY MAHONE as its first chief revenue officer. Mahone is currently serving as managing director of the Pivot Fund

ClimateWorks Foundation in San Francisco has announced appointments in three leadership positions. ILLYASHA PEETE has been named chief of equity, justice, and culture; MICHAEL BOSSE will serve as deputy vice president; and SHELAGH WHITLEY is senior director of sustainable finance. 

The Council on American-Islamic Relations in Washington, D.C., has announced the election of SPOJMIE NASIRI and JOHN FLOYD to the national board of directors and of MANAL FAKHOURY as board chair.

The Doe Fund in New York City has announced the selection of JENNIFER MITCHELL as the organization’s next president and CEO, effective in April. Mitchell began her career at the fund more than two decades ago and previously served as executive director of The HOPE Program. She will succeed HARRIET KARR-MCDONALD. 

The GroundTruth Project in Boston has announced the selection of ROB ZEASKE as CEO and president, effective January 23. From 2019 to 2020, he served as the nonprofit’s chief operations officer from 2019 to 2020. He previously served as CEO of Second Harvest for more than two decades.

The Hershey Trust Company and the Milton Hershey School, both in Hershey, Pennsylvania, have announced the election of three new directors/managers: MICHELLE FIGLAR, HAROLD SINGLETON III, and JASON WOLFE. 

OneTen in New York City has announced the appointment of DEBBIE DYSON as president and chief operating officer. Dyson previously served as president of ADP’s national account services. In the newly created role, Dyson will oversee the organization’s strategic, financial, operational, technology, and marketing plans.

The Partnership for Equitable and Resilient Communities in New Haven, Connecticut, has announced the selection of ACOOA ELLIS as executive director. Ellis previously served as the senior vice president of community impact for Greater Twin Cities United Way, where she focused on grantmaking, coalition engagement, systems change and public policy.
