The Daniels Fund in Denver has announced the selection of SEAN DUFFY as senior vice president of communications. Duffy previously served as deputy chief of staff and director of communications for the office of Colorado Governor Bill Owens.
The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation in Miami has announced the selection of KRISTINA NEWMAN-SCOTT as vice president for arts. Newman-Scott most recently served as inaugural executive director of the Jerome L. Greene Performance Art Space at New York Public Radio/WNYC.
The Joyce Foundation in Chicago has announced the selection of PREETI SHANKAR as environment program officer. Shankar previously served as managing director of the urban analytics team at the Center for Neighborhood Technology.
The Rockefeller Foundation in New York City has announced the selection of LYANA LATORRE as vice president and head of its regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Latorre previously served as director for Latin America at Ronald McDonald House Charities before becoming director of corporate social engagement and a member of the organization’s management team.
The Yawkey Foundation in Dedham, Massachusetts, has announced the promotion of ALICIA VERITY to CEO. Verity joined the Yawkey Foundation as chief program officer in 2019.
The Children’s Defense Fund in New York City has announced the appointment of KHIN MAI AUNG as state director of its New York office. Aung most recently served as Mid-Atlantic executive director for Generation Citizen, a youth civic engagement organization.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in Rye Brook, New York, has announced the selection of LORE GRUENBAUM as chief scientific officer. Gruenbaum previously served as leader of LLS’s Therapy Acceleration Program.
Points of Light in Atlanta has announced the appointment of ALEX EDGAR to its board of directors. A youth engagement manager at Made By Us, Edgar will be Points of Light’s first Gen-Z board member.

The Union of Concerned Scientists in Washington, D.C., has announced the election of GRETCHEN GOLDMAN as president, effective February 3.
