The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri, has announced the appointments of ALLISON GREENWOOD BAJRACHARYA, YVONNE OWENS FERGUSON, and GLORIA JACKSON-LEATHERS to its leadership team. Greenwood Bajracharya was appointed vice president of program strategy; she previously worked at America Achieves as chief strategy and communities officer. Owens Ferguson was appointed vice president, research, learning, and evaluation; she previously led a program with the National Institutes of Health. Jackson-Leathers was appointed senior advisor of community engagement; she previously served as a bank examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
The Center for Policing Equity in Denver has announced the appointment of three members to its board of directors: FAYE WATTLETON, MONICA BELL, and MICHAEL MCBRIDE. Wattleton is the co-founder and director of EeroQ Quantum Hardware. Bell is a law professor, counselor to the dean at Yale Law School, and associate professor of sociology at Yale University. McBride is the executive director for LIVE FREE USA.
JDRF in New York City has announced the appointment of LISA FISHBONE WALLACK as chair of its international board of directors. Wallack, an attorney, has been a member of the board since 2015.
Legal Momentum in New York City has announced the selection of AZALEEA CARLEA as legal director. Carlea spent more than a decade providing direct legal services to survivors at various nonprofit organizations across New York City and served as staff attorney to U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
The NDN Collective in Rapid City, South Dakota, has announced the promotion of GABY STRONG to vice president. Strong has worked with the collective since February 2020, serving as managing director of the NDN Foundation.
The New York Public Library has announced the election of three new members to its board of trustees: JELANI COBB, KRISTIN FISHER, and JOHN CHAO. Cobb, dean of the Columbia Journalism School, is the author of The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress and To the Break of Dawn: A Freestyle on the Hip Hop Aesthetic. Fisher is president of the Adler Group, a real estate developer. Chao previously served as the chief operating officer of New York Public Radio.
