The Chicago-based Coleman Foundation has announced the appointment of THOMAS D. TRINLEY as chief financial officer/chief operating officer. In his new role, Trinley will be responsible for overall financial management, investment oversight, human resources, information technology, and other administrative responsibilities and will serve as a key strategic partner to the president/ CEO and the board of directors. He joins the foundation from the Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, were he has spent the past eighteen years as director of finance and operations.

The Kresge Foundation in Troy, Michigan, has announced the addition to its staff of ERICA L. BROWNE as health program officer and ERIKA BRICE as social investment officer. Brown most recently served as a faculty affiliate for health policy and management at the California Initiative for Health Equity and Action, a state-wide research translation center that connects the University of California and the state’s health policy community. Her previous roles have included positions as a health policy research scholar at the School of Public Health at the University of California at Berkeley; community benefit manager and senior consultant at Kaiser Permanente; health program director for Mills College at UC Berkeley; and senior health educator with University Health Services at UC Berkeley. Brice joins Kresge after nearly two decades in commercial real estate investment, finance, and asset management, most recently as the principal for the SI12 Group & Rector Development in Kansas City. 

The Meyer Memorial Trust in Portland, Oregon, has announced the election of JANET HAMADA as chair of its board of trustees, succeeding former chair TOYA FICK, who led the board from 2019-21. A Meyer trustee since 2017, Hamada is executive director of The Next Door, a social service agency based in Hood River, and serves as a member of the boards of directors of Four Rivers Early Learning Hub and the Mid-Columbia Medical Center.

Business executive JAYNIE MILLER STUDENMUND has been elected to the board of the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles. A former chief operating officer for Overture Services, Studenmund began her career in management consulting at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, went on to lead consumer businesses for First Interstate Bank of California, Great Western Bank, and Home Savings, and then helped develop the search engine marketing business at Overture. She currently serves on the boards of EXL Service, a global digital intelligence, analytics, and operations management company; Pacific Premier Bancorp, a regional bank; Western Asset Management Funds, a global fixed income investment manager; CoreLogic, a provider of consumer, financial, and property data; Huntington Hospital, which she chairs; and Flintridge Prep, Forest Lawn, and the Enduring Heroes Foundation, which she co-founded. The Studenmunds, a Gold Star family, lost their Green Beret son Scott in 2014.

After an extensive nationwide search, the board of directors of the Children's Heart Foundation has announced GAIL RODDIE-HAMLIN as president and CEO. Roddie-Hamlin most recently served as national vice president of community engagement at the Alzheimer’s Association, where she led a new nationwide development initiative aimed at advancing the mission of the organization. Prior to that, she served as regional leader, president, and chief executive officer of the association’s Greater Pennsylvania Chapter and in several executive roles at the American Cancer Society.

CASA of Los Angeles, a community-supported nonprofit that helps children in Los Angeles County’s child welfare system who have experienced abuse or neglect, has appointed CHARITY CHANDLER-COLE as its new CEO. Chandler-Cole joins the organization from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, where as national director of contracts administration she oversaw a budget of $30 million.
