The Field Foundation in Chicago has announced the appointment of DANIEL O. ASH as president, effective June 20. Ash joins the Field Foundation from the Chicago Community Trust, where he is currently associate vice president of community impact, working to advance equitable neighborhoods in underinvested communities through grantmaking focused on community organizing, storytelling, and resident-driven initiatives.
The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation in Baltimore has announced that chief communications officer CRAIG DEMCHAK will retire from the foundation effective October 31, 2022. He will be succeeded by ARIN GENCER, effective August 1, as senior director of communications. Gencer currently serves as senior advisor at the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
The Open Society Foundations has announced that LAURA CARVALHO, a leading Brazilian progressive economist, will become the foundations’ first global director of equity, working to address a broad range of structural and economic inequities.
The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota, has appointed HEATHER BRITT executive director of Wilder Research, effective June 13. Britt will guide the research team in support of Wilder’s mission to uplift people, families, and communities in Saint Paul and beyond.
Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll) has announced the appointment of KAREN “KJ” JOHNSON as chief operating officer and LISA ARCHIBALD as regional director. Johnson will be responsible for EforAll’s overall operations and will work to implement the organization’s strategic mission and values as it continues to expand nationally.
Homeless Solutions Inc. (HSI), a New Jersey-based nonprofit focused on helping homeless and working poor individuals, has announced the addition of four members to its board of trustees: DAVON GORMAN, a volunteer with Delta Sigma Theta Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.; SALLY MULLIGAN, former corporate advisory council member; RYAN SPENCER, a shelter cook; and LING YIN, managing director and head of regulatory reporting policy at JPMorgan Chase.
The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research in New York City has announced the appointment of RYAN SCHOENFELD as its CEO. An experienced leader, Schoenfeld will oversee the foundation’s scientific programs, investments, and operations and will be responsible for shaping how the Mark Foundation allocates the $500 million in additional funding recently committed by its founder.
The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) in Needham, Massachusetts, has announced that longtime PMC rider and board member MIKE DEE has been elected chair of its board of directors. Dee succeeds ROBERT SMITH, whose term as chair ended in April. Smith will remain on the PMC board of directors after helping guide the organization to new fundraising heights amidst the COVID-19 pandemic throughout his tenure as board chair.
The Sikh Coalition has announced ANISHA SINGH as its executive director. Singh brings to the Sikh Coalition more than 15 years of experience in public interest and social justice work, with a background in grassroots organizing and law. Singh led the courts and democracy programs at Planned Parenthood Federation of America as director of judiciary and democracy affairs.
