The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has announced the selection of LATRICE MCCLENDON as program director in Detroit. McClendon will develop a portfolio of projects that represent Detroit’s diverse culture and help empower residents to shape their city into an equitable, thriving, and interconnected residential and commercial community. 

Bottom Line, a national education organization, has announced the addition of three board members: GERALDINE WHITE, MIKE VOLO, and MAX CLERMONT. White is the chief diversity officer at Publicis Groupe US. Volo is the principal financial advisor at CAPTRUST. Clermont is the senior technical advisor at Partners In Health

CommonSpirit Health in Chicago has announced the appointment of LILICIA BAILEY as senior executive vice president and chief people officer. Bailey previously served in a similar role at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta. 

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis, Maryland, has announced the promotion of PAUL SMAIL to vice president for litigation and general counsel and Richard T. Pelham Chair.  Smail joined the foundation in 2014 as staff litigation attorney and became director of litigation in 2019. 

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Bethesda, Maryland, has announced the election of KATE O’DONNELL, DODZIE SOGAH, and ELISE EBERWEIN to its board of trustees. O’Donnell works with Belmont Capital, Sogah is venture partner at Third Rock Ventures, and Eberwein served on the executive leadership team at American Airlines

The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism has announced the appointment of TARA LEVINE as president. Levine most recently served as president of Mayfield Advisory, partnering with consumer packaging goods businesses to navigate growth inflection points, and as senior advisor to Branchfood, a launchpad for global food innovators.

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in New York City has announced the selection of MICHAEL T. PUGH as CEO. Pugh previously served as president and CEO of Carver Bancorp

The New England Aquarium in Boston has announced the promotion of BARBARA BAILEY to vice president of animal care. Bailey has been a part of the New England Aquarium for nearly 38 years, serving as its curator of husbandry and sustainability for the past eight years and overseeing the fishes department of 33 employees. 

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) in Jacksonville, Florida, has announced the retirement of Lt. Gen. (Ret.) MICHAEL LINNINGTON as CEO. Linnington joined WWP as CEO in June 2016 after retiring from active-duty military service and has dedicated more than 40 years of service to the country’s military and veterans. 

PND also notes the passing of GORDON CONWAY, former president of the Rockefeller Foundation. Conway served as the foundation’s president from 1998 to 2004. Under his leadership, the foundation sought to address urban poverty by developing low-income housing and other solutions as part of the “Living Cities” program and launched the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative
