The Conrad Prebys Foundation in San Diego has announced the appointment of EMILY YOUNG and CHRIS SICHEL as vice presidents of programs. Young previously served as executive director of the Nonprofit Institute in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego. Sichel previously served as president and CEO of Rancho Santa Fe Foundation.
The Doris Duke Foundation in New York City has announced the election of BROOKE JONES to its board of trustees as well as the selection of BEN WEITZ as executive director of the foundation’s Shangri La, a museum of Islamic art, culture, and design in Honolulu. Jones is the first chief investment officer at Bryn Mawr College, and Weitz had a decade-long career at Disney and served as senior vice president and general manager for e-commerce startup Loot Crate.
The Starr Foundation in New York City has announced the selection of COURTNEY O’MALLEY as president. O’Malley previously served as executive director of the Theodore J. Forstmann Charitable Trust.
GoodWeave International in Washington, D.C., has announced the appointment of JON JACOBY as CEO. Jacoby previously led global grantmaking at the Open Society Foundations and co-founded Funders Organized for Rights in the Global Economy (FORGE).
The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has announced the election of MICHAEL MARKMAN as chair of its board, on which he has served since 2019. Markman is president of BET Investments.
Newport Classical in Newport, Rhode Island, has announced the appointment of five new members to its board: TERRY MORGENTHALER, JOAN M. SWEENEY, BARRY M. BERGER, JOHN T. BOXER, and MARIA ELENA VERGARA. Morgenthaler was managing director of Boston Dance Collective; Sweeney was chief operating officer and managing director of Allied Capital Corporation; Berger is chief medical officer of Naveris; Boxer has served as general counsel and chief operating officer at Metropolitan Wealth Management; Vergara is a licensed investment advisor representative and was a registered general securities representative in the United States.
Resources Legacy Fund has announced the appointment of GINA MCCARTHY to its board of directors. McCarthy served as the first-ever White House national climate advisor in the Biden administration and was U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator in the Obama administration.
The RRF Foundation for Aging in Chicago has announced two new appointments to its board of trustees: ROBYN GOLDEN and MICHELLE R.B. SADDLER. Golden is the associate vice president of social work and community health at Rush University Medical Center. Saddler is the managing director and principal at Kittleman & Associates.
