The Burroughs Wellcome Fund in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, has announced the addition of TAMMY COLLINS. She will lead the fund’s efforts in interdisciplinary science, including the career awards at the scientific interface, and regulatory science. For the past decade, Collins has served as director of the Office of Fellows’ Career Development at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

The California Wellness Foundation has announced the appointment of JOSEPH VILLELA as director of government relations. Villela will lead the foundation’s engagement on public policy issues and build a government relations program to advance local, regional, state, and federal efforts that align with the foundation’s mission and strategies. He previously served as policy director at the Sunita Jain Anti-Trafficking Policy Initiative at Loyola Law School.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in Stanford, California, has announced the appointment of two senior fellows: SHIRLEY M. COLLADO, president and CEO of College Track, and JAL MEHTA, professor of education at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. As senior fellows they will work to accelerate the foundation’s innovation and impact across the K–12 and postsecondary sectors.

The Francis J. Greenburger Foundation in New York City has announced the appointment of JULIA GREENBURGER to serve as associate director of grants and gifts. Greenburger will help oversee the foundation’s support of more than 250 not-for-profit organizations.

The LEGO Foundation has announced that ANNE-BIRGITTE ALBRECTSEN has resigned as CEO after two years. According to the foundation, the board of directors and Albrectsen had fundamentally different views on how the organization should be led in the next phase.

The Open Society Foundations has announced that SANDRA BREKA, former chief executive officer of the Robert Bosch Foundation, will assume the role of vice president and chief operating officer. She will oversee the foundations’ finance, grants management, information technology, real estate and facilities, and global security functions.

The Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands has announced the election of YOLANDA KAKABADSE as president of the board of directors. Kakabadse joined the board in April 2022 and succeeds HANS VAN POELVOORDE.

The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies in Washington, D.C., has announced the election of PAUL THORNELL as board chair, PAULA BOYD as secretary, and KENNETH JONES as treasurer.

The Mississippi Museum of Art has announced the appointment of eight members of the board of trustees: GERALDINE KEARSE BROOKINS, president of Changing Dynamics; attorney ROBERT L. GIBBS, a partner at Gibbs Travis PLLC; W. RALPH EUBANKS, visiting professor of English and Southern Studies at University of Mississippi; BRIAN JOHNSON, executive vice president of Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance; BRAD MALEY, president of the Mid-Mississippi Division of BancorpSouth Bank; attorney MONA GUPTA REDDY; F.M. “BUDDY” STALLINGS, an Episcopal priest; and June Stone, president of Gallery Guild.

The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy has announced two appointments to its board of directors: FARHAD EBRAHIMI, president and founder of Chorus Foundation, and JEANINE ABRAMS MCLEAN, president of Fair Count. They will succeed DANIEL LEE and MARY LASSEN, who reached the maximum allowable service of nine years.

Sesame Workshop has appointed BRETT ROBINSON as its chief financial officer and executive vice president of finance, technology, and facilities. In this role, Robinson will be responsible for advising on all fiscal matters, including annual and long-term planning/forecasting, accounting, budgeting, risk management, compliance, and analysis.

The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) has announced the appointment of MAUREEN McBRIDE as interim CEO. For the past 27 years, McBride has served UNOS in a variety of senior leadership roles, most recently as chief operating officer.
