Siebel Scholars Foundation Names Class of 2017
The Siebel Scholars Foundation in Redwood City, California, has announced the recipients of its 2017 Siebel Scholars award, which recognizes exceptional students at the world’s leading graduate schools of business, computer science, bioengineering, and energy science.
The ninety-two students in this year’s cohort will each receive a $35,000 cash award and will join more than one thousand entrepreneurs, researchers, and philanthropists from past Siebel Scholars classes in a professional and personal network that is influencing the technologies, policies, and economic and social decisions shaping our future. This year, the program has expanded to honor top energy science students at Stanford University and Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
Established in 2000, the program includes twenty-seven partner programs in the U.S., China, France, Italy, and Japan. Top students from each of the partners are eligible to become Siebel Scholars.
"The Class of 2017 represents the best and brightest from around the globe, and it's my great pleasure to welcome them into this ever-growing, lifelong community," said Siebel Scholars Foundation chair Thomas M. Siebel. "The program's continued expansion into energy science furthers the potential for Siebel Scholars to achieve even more through their work with an incomparable group of equally talented peers."
