St. David’s Foundation awards $28 million in grants
St. David’s Foundation in Austin, Texas, has announced grants totaling more than $28 million in support of organizations addressing the health needs of central Texas.
Between January and August, the foundation awarded 62 grants to 48 local and grassroots organizations that provide essential services and reflect the foundation’s commitment to advancing health equity. Most of the funding will help children and families improve health, economic well-being, and family resilience; ensure that more people have access to medical and behavioral care through safety-net clinics; support systems to address housing and homelessness; and reinforce its commitment to accessing women’s health services and health care in the community. More than $10 million has been invested in the local affordable housing continuum and related system infrastructure.
Recipients include the Austin Community Foundation (multiple grants totaling $1.22 million), Capacity Catalyst ($75,000), Central Texas Allied Health Institute ($300,000), and Creative Action ($1 million).
“We are committed to investing in long-term solutions that advance health equity and access to quality care,” said St. David’s Foundation vice president of community investments Regan Gruber Moffitt. “These grants represent the intersection of our continued support for direct services with efforts to address the root causes of health inequity in our region.”
