Stevens Institute of Technology concludes $200 million campaign
The Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, has announced that it raised more than $250 million in the fundraising campaign it recently concluded.
Gifts to the Power of Stevens campaign, which exceeded its goal of $200 million, and include contributions from more than fourteen hundred donors, including alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and industry partners. The campaign enables the university to create new living and learning spaces on campus, including the University Center Complex, scheduled to open in the spring of 2022; a state-of-the-art financial systems laboratory for analytics and data visualization; the ABS Engineering Center, which houses an array of laboratories; and the four-story, 89,500-square-foot Gateway Academic Center, which opened in 2019 and houses ten smart classrooms, more than a dozen laboratories, and nearly fifty faculty offices.
Additional initiatives supported by the campaign include scholarship programs to help students succeed and improve access to an education for students from underserved communities and those who are underrepresented in STEM; endowed professorships; and innovative new academic programs.
"The Power of Stevens campaign is itself a powerful example of what Stevens can accomplish with focus, determination and inspiration," said Stevens Institute president Nariman Farvardin. "Members of our board of trustees and the President's Leadership Council, as well as many alumni, friends, corporate partners, and even students and parents came together to meet and exceed our goal. This campaign has been transformative for the university, and our students and faculty will benefit for decades to come."
