TD Charitable Foundation Announces $2.5 Million in Grants for Affordable Housing
The TD Charitable Foundation has announced a $2.5 million grant competition that will support twenty-five East Coast nonprofits in their efforts to support and provide affordable housing initiatives.
As part of the foundation's Housing for Everyone program, this year's competition will focus on the theme of "Building for the Future" and will support energy efficiency, capacity building for organizations working to create affordable housing, and new unit creation. Now in its sixth year, the Housing for Everyone program has awarded grants totaling $7.1 million and helped to maintain or create 6,300 affordable housing units.
"Housing experts have identified a pressing need for more energy-efficient, affordable housing and the qualified staff to help build them," said TD Charitable Foundation president Elizabeth K. Warn. "We are proud to award grants to local nonprofit organizations that focus on these critical areas and make a meaningful difference in meeting their communities' affordable housing needs."
