TD Charitable Foundation Awards $2.5 Million for Affordable Housing

The TD Charitable Foundation has announced twenty-five grants totaling $2.5 million in support of affordable housing initiatives.

Awarded through the foundation's sixth annual Housing for Everyone competition, grants of $100,000 were made to organizations working in the areas of new unit creation, energy efficiency, and capacity building. Drawn from twelve states and Washington D.C., this year's recipients included Columbus House in New Haven, Connecticut; Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware; the Laconia Area Community Land Trust in New Hampshire; Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County in Hackensack, New Jersey; the Bridge Street Development Corporation in Brooklyn, New York; and the Champlain Housing Trust in Burlington, Vermont.

"Access to affordable, energy efficient safe housing is a significant need for millions of families, and these grants will help expand the availability of such housing in several neighborhoods in need," said Elizabeth K. Warn, president of the TD Charitable Foundation and senior vice president of community development for TD Bank. "We are proud to award Housing for Everyone grants to these organizations as they continue to make a meaningful difference in their communities."
