Texas Christian University Receives $10 Million for Scholarships

Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, has announced a $10 million gift from alumnus Mike Harrison ('64) and his wife, Brenda, to endow a scholarship program.

The Brenda and Mike Harrison Endowed Scholarship Program will provide need- and merit-based financial aid to students from middle-income families. In recognition of the gift, TCU plans to name its new administration building, scheduled to open in August 2020, The Harrison. The commitment from the couple, who own Anderson Ranches in Midland, Texas, will count toward TCU's $1 billion capital campaign, which is raising support for scholarships, endowed faculty positions, academic programs, and the university's endowment.

“We are grateful to Brenda and Mike Harrison for this gift that addresses our highest priority — increasing endowed support for scholarships, which helps us make the TCU experience more available and affordable for talented, deserving students,” said chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr.

"We have a strong desire to help students whose families do not earn enough to afford a TCU education, but earn too much to qualify for meaningful scholarships and other financial aid," said Mike Harrison, whose ties to TCU span three generations. "These very qualified and deserving students should have every opportunity to become Horned Frogs."
