Union Pacific Foundation Awards $8 Million in Grants

The Union Pacific Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Union Pacific Corporation, has announced grants totaling $8 million to nonprofit organizations in twenty-three states.

The grants will support heath and human services and education initiatives, including the expansion of the foundation's Principals' Partnership, a national program that supports high school principals' leadership needs through research, networking, and workshops. The annual summer institute is available to principals of more than eight hundred public high schools in key communities served by Union Pacific Railroad.

"Union Pacific is honored to continue our association with the great organizations that help to make our world a better place," said Union Pacific president Jim Young. "We are also very proud of the overwhelming reception the Principals' Partnership has received among public high school principals. This year we've expanded our program to welcome high school principals in California and Nevada."

In addition to those two states, the partnership is available in Arizona, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
