United States Artists announces 2024 USA Fellows
United States Artists (USA), a national arts funding organization based in Chicago, has announced the 2024 cohort of its USA Fellows program.
Established in 2006, the program awards unrestricted cash prizes of $50,000 in the disciplines of architecture and design, craft, dance, film, media, music, theater and performance, traditional arts, visual art, and writing. Hailing from 22 states and Puerto Rico, this year’s 50 recipients span various career stages.
This year’s cohort includes Ifeoma Ebo (architect/community designer; Brooklyn, New York); Linda Nguyen Lopez (ceramicist; Fayetteville, Arkansas); Mythili Prakash (choreographer/dancer; Los Angeles); Ciara Leina`ala Lacy (filmmaker; Honolulu); Cristóbal Martinez (installation artist; Tempe, Arizona); Sarah Hennies (composer/percussionist; Red Hook, New York); Muriel Miguel (theater founder and director; Brooklyn); Karen Collins (narrative miniaturist; Compton, California); Sofía Gallisá Muriente (visual artist; San Juan, Puerto Rico); and Dantiel W. Moniz (writer; Jacksonville, Florida).
“With this year’s cohort of USA Fellows, we are thrilled to support a group of artists who, in their diverse approaches and contexts, offer invaluable modes of healing, expression, and collaboration,” said United States Artists president and CEO Judilee Reed. “Together, they invite us to join them in imagining endless possibilities for ourselves and our communities.”
