Background:
Founded in 1915, the Boston Foundation is one of the oldest and largest community foundations in the United States, with assets of nearly $900 million. Made up of approximately nine hundred separate charitable funds established by donors for the general benefit of the community or for special purposes, the foundation serves as a civic hub, provider of information, convener, and sponsor of special community initiatives.

Outstanding Web Features:
The foundation's recently redesigned Web site features information for donors, professional advisors, and grantseekers. The donor services section includes information on fund planning and a link to Advisor Xpress, a secure Web site that makes it easy for donors and fund advisors to access their contribution history, quarterly status reports, and current market values.
