Accenture Awards $3.65 Million to Plan International for Skills Training in Thailand, Indonesia

Accenture and the Accenture Foundations have announced a $3.65 million grant over three years to Plan International to provide technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills training as well as job placement support to approximately seventy-one hundred disadvantaged young adults in Thailand and Indonesia.

The grant is part of Accenture's global corporate citizenship initiative, Skills to Succeed, which aims to equip two hundred and fifty thousand people around the world with the skills to get a job or start a business by 2015. Since 2011, Accenture and its foundations have provided $5.5 million to Plan International in direct support.

"Despite the rapidly growing economies of both Thailand and Indonesia, many young people continue to enter the job market lacking relevant skills and experience," said Plan International CEO Nigel Chapman. "Accenture and Plan are working together to help ensure that young people have the skills and support to actively participate and share in the benefits of these growing nations."
