Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham Awards $1.5 Million
The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham has announced grants totaling nearly $1.5 million to local nonprofits working in the areas of community improvement, health, and education.
Five grants totaling $450,000 were awarded through the foundation's Results Framework program in support of early education and efforts to increase high school graduation rates. In addition, sixteen grants totaling $849,000 were awarded for initiatives designed to improve healthcare access for vulnerable populations and nutritious and healthy foods programs. The remaining grants were awarded through donor-advised and community funds.
"These grants are made possible by our donors who have entrusted their charitable dollars and legacies to the community foundation," said CFGB president Chris Nanni. "Thanks to their vision of collective giving, we are able to support organizations that drive positive change across our community."
