Colorado

The Community First Foundation in Arvada has announced grants totaling $517,903 in support of Jefferson County nonprofits working to identify partners, engage donors, increase community engagement in neighborhoods, and inform the foundation's future work. Recipients include 40 West Arts, Archway Housing & Services, BeyondHome, and Sprout City Farms.

Florida

The Gulf Coast Community Foundation in Venice has announced grants and scholarships totaling nearly $11 million. Recipients include the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, Venice Theatre, the Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center, and the State College of Florida Foundation.

Illinois

The Community Foundation for the Fox River Region in Aurora has announced a grant of $25,000 through the Elgin Covid Response Fund to Family Service Association of Greater Elgin to deliver mental health services to children and adolescents who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and face barriers to accessing those services. To date, ECRF has awarded a total of $225,000 in assistance to Elgin individuals and families.

Massachusetts

The Cambridge Community Foundation has announced the creation of the Resident Services Empowerment Fund, which will support the Work Force program at the Cambridge Housing Authority. Work Force has helped hundreds of youths in Cambridge public housing matriculate, persist in college, and graduate on time so they can go on to careers and financial independence.

Michigan

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation has announced the appointment of Erycka Hunter as vice president of operations and Jennifer Heymoss as vice president of initiatives and public policy. The roles were created after the foundation reorganized this past spring. Hunter joined the KZCF team as human resources director in September 2020. Heymoss joined the foundation in July 2020, serving on the Community Investment team, where she played a key role in supporting the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation initiative and staff.

Ohio

Fifth Third Private Bank, a division of Fifth Third Bank, and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation have announced the launch of Giving with Purpose, a co-branded donor-advised fund offering aimed at providing a best-in-class experience that maximizes clients' charitable impact on the community. The partners will work to leverage their efforts to ensure the greatest good for the greater Cincinnati region.

Pennsylvania

Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh, a joint program of the Pittsburgh Foundation and the Heinz Endowments, has awarded 127 grants totaling $836,450 in the initiative's 2021 grantmaking cycle, including $440,000 in operating support for individual artists and art programs. Recipients include BLKNVMBR, FashionAFRICANA, the Genesis Collective, and Afrika Yetu.

Rhode Island

The Rhode Island Foundation has announced that it will match every donation the public makes to Trinity Repertory Company during its 2021 run of A Christmas Carol with an equal grant to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, up to a total of $60,000. The funding is intended to replace the donations for the food bank that the theater traditionally has collected from audiences.

Vermont

The Vermont Community Foundation has announced that its Spark Connecting Community grant program has awarded $48,080 to seventeen nonprofit organizations for local projects focused on creative placemaking in communities across the state. The grants are made in partnership with several generous fundholders who contributed through Giving Together, a program at the foundation that shares grant proposals with fundholders and donors to provide an opportunity to co-fund projects. Recipients include the BarnArts Center for the Arts, Chittenden Public Library, Montpelier Alive, and Soul Steps.
