Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina, has announced a $7.5 million gift from Steve and Jackie Bell and the Bell Foundation.

The largest gift in the history of Cone Health will establish an endowed chair in cardiovascular research and support the Cone Health Heart and Vascular Prevention program. The funding was made in support of the Campaign for Healthy Communities, an effort to improve the overall health of the region by supporting everything from advanced heart care to expanded cancer services and ensuring that all residents have access to the medical care they need when and where they want it.

“Jackie and I believe that good schools, a strong regional health system, and a robust airport are critical for any community,” said Steve Bell. “The Piedmont Triad is poised for growth like we haven’t seen in the last two decades. As the region grows, Cone Health is expanding to meet the needs of our community, with a focus on keeping people well and a commitment to provide the right care in the right setting at the right time."
