Nord Family Foundation Announces $2.5 Million in Grants

The Nord Family Foundation in Amherst, Ohio, has announced grants and awards totaling more than $2.5 million to organizations working in the areas of health and social services, education, civic affairs, and the arts.

Grant recipients include the Cleveland Play House, which was awarded $75,000 over three years in support of educational programming and audience engagement activities; Cleveland-based charter school network Friends of Breakthrough Schools, which received $150,000 over three years; Blessing House in Lorain, which was awarded $60,000 in support of its children's crisis center; and the American Red Cross Lake Erie/Heartland Chapter, which received $46,200 for a blood service vehicle.

In addition, the foundation awarded $20,000 to the Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands in Columbia, South Carolina, in support of its domestic violence prevention efforts; $100,000 to the Epiphany School in Dorchester, Massachusetts, in support of housing for teaching fellows; $11,000 to Emerge A Man's Counseling Service on Domestic Violence in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in support of its responsible fatherhood program; and $20,000 to Milly's Pantry in Penn Yan, New York, in support of the organization’s school supplies program.
