Otto Bremer Trust awards grants, PRIs totaling $12.1 million
The Otto Bremer Trust in St. Paul, Minnesota, has announced grants and program-related investments totaling more than $12.1 million in support of two hundred and ten nonprofits in Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Grant recipients include Community Leadership & Development, Inc. in Billings, Montana, which received $200,000 to build affordable housing units for low-income seniors and those with mobility challenges; Bis-Man Transit Board in Bismarck, North Dakota, which received $81,600 to provide safe, efficient, and reliable modes of public transportation; Family Pathways in North Branch, Minnesota, which received $150,000 in general operating support to provide food, domestic violence shelter, and sexual assault services; Hope Dental Clinic in Saint Paul, which received $100,000 for general operating support to provide free dental care, education, and outreach to low-income, uninsured adults, children, and families; and Fellowship Open in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which received $100,000 to support the Milwaukee Fellows Program, which provides academic support to help young Black men graduate from college.
Additional recipients include YWCA Missoula (Missoula, Montana; $75,000), Souris Valley United Way (Minot, North Dakota; $40,000), Center of Human Environment (Mahnomen, Minnesota; $75,000), Breaking Free, Inc. (St. Paul; $50,000), Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin (Milwaukee; $90,000), and Workforce Resource, Inc. (Menomonie, Wisconsin; $40,000).
"As communities continue to feel the impact of the pandemic and economic uncertainty, these organizations are supporting basic needs, education and training, economic self-sufficiency, and other programs directed at helping the recovery," said Otto Bremer Trust co-CEO and trustee Brian Lipschultz.
