Paletta family commits $38.57 million to Canadian charity

The Hamilton Community Foundation in Ontario, Canada, has announced a C$50 million ($38.57 million) commitment from the children of Pasquale and Anita Paletta.

The gift, which includes a gift of C$25 million ($19.3 million) and a legacy pledge of C$25 million, will establish the Pasquale and Anita Paletta Family Fund to support the family's charitable interests across the Hamilton-Burlington area. Three initial grants totaling C$600,000 ($462,790) have been made to the Halton Healthcare Foundation, Hamilton Health Sciences, and the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation, in recognition of the family's gratitude for the care Pasquale Paletta received as he aged and their desire to provide excellent care to those addressing kidney and cardiovascular health challenges.

"The Hamilton-Burlington area has been integral to our family, giving three generations the opportunity to learn, work, and be successful," said Paul Paletta. "This fund is a great way for us to continue to give back to the communities that have given us so much."
