Houston Endowment has announced the appointment of MELANIE TRENT as chair of its board of directors. Trent is a retired senior executive who most recently served as executive vice president of Rowan Companies plc.

Park Foundation in Ithaca, New York, has announced several additions to its staff and board of trustees. RAYMOND PAULTRE and LISA GRAVES were elected to the board of trustees in the fall. Paultre is the executive director of the Florida Alliance, and Graves is the founder and executive director of True North Research. The foundation also announced the appointments of NICK GOLDSMITH to oversee the Sustainable Ithaca program and CHARLENE SANTOS as a program associate. Goldsmith previously served as the sustainability planner for the town and city of Ithaca, and Santos previously helped lead youth programs at the Ithaca Youth Bureau and Greater Ithaca Activities Center.

The Skillman Foundation in Detroit has announced two new board appointments and two staff promotions. JOI HARRIS and MOHAMMAD MUNTAKIM were appointed to the board of trustees. Harris is president and chief operating officer of DTE Energy, and Muntakim is the founder and leader of the Detroit Muslim Youth Council. LAURNE HAWKINS, who previously served as the foundation’s controller, was promoted to director of accounting and finance. PUNITA DANI THURMAN was promoted to vice president of strategy; she previously served as vice president of program and strategy.

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) in New York City has announced the selection of ANNIE SANDLER as president. Sandler, who has served on JDC’s board since 2012, is a fellow of the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute, where she was a founder and president.

Earthjustice in San Francisco has announced the addition of three new members to its board of trustees: MELANIE NEWMAN, GREG AVIS, and CHRIS HENSMAN. Newman currently serves as senior vice president of communications at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Avis is managing partner of the private impact investing firm Bangtail Partners. Hensman is chief strategy officer at Houston Habitat for Humanity.

The Frick Collection in New York City has announced the retirement of IAN WARDROPPER, the institution’s Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director. During his tenure, Wardropper led the museum and library through the first comprehensive renovation and upgrade of the Frick’s historic buildings in nearly 90 years and developed a focused acquisitions program that has enhanced the institution’s art and library collections.

National Philanthropic Trust  in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, has announced the appointment of JEFFREY ARMBRISTER, LINDY BENTON-MORENO, and CONNIE COLLINGSWORTH to its board of trustees. Armbrister is the chief financial officer of Hamilton Lane, a financial services firm. Benton-Moreno is executive board chair of Vyne Therapeutics. Collingsworth is a former chief operating officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she worked for more than 20 years.

The University of Tennessee Foundation and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, have announced the appointment of BRIAN BROYLES as senior vice chancellor for advancement for UT Knoxville. Broyles served as interim vice chancellor for advancement since July.
