Sewickley Academy receives $20 million from Tull Family Foundation

Sewickley Academy, a co-ed college-preparatory and independent day school in the Pittsburgh area, has announced a $20 million gift from the Tull Family Foundation.

The largest gift in the school’s history will fund several initiatives, including program enhancements such as partnerships with regional universities and educational institutions, expanded offerings such as summer electives and college counseling services, and increased STEM class offerings; a scholarship program; an advanced computer science center; and improvements to facilities.

“We could not be more thrilled by the possibilities a donation of this magnitude brings to the academy,” said head of school Ashley Birtwell. “As we continue to position the academy for the future and prepare for the next hundred years, it is critical that we put in place now the academic programs and infrastructure necessary to ensure our place in this community for years to come. This generous donation from the Tulls enables us to do just that.”
