The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in New York City has announced the 2025 recipients of its Sloan Research Fellowships.

Awarded annually since 1955, the fellowships support early-career researchers working in the fields of chemistry, computer science, Earth system science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, and physics. In 2025, 126 fellows were selected from more than 1,000 researchers nominated by their fellow scientists at 51 institutions across the United States and Canada. Each fellow will receive $75,000 over two years for research-related expenses.

According to the foundation, 58 Sloan Fellows have gone on to receive a Nobel Prize. In addition, 72 fellows have won the National Medal of Science, 17 have won the Fields Medal in mathematics, and 24 have won the John Bates Clark Medal in economics.

“The Sloan Research Fellows represent the very best of early-career science, embodying the creativity, ambition, and rigor that drive discovery forward,” said Sloan Foundation president Adam F. Falk. “These extraordinary scholars are already making significant contributions, and we are confident they will shape the future of their fields in remarkable ways.”
