United States Artists announces 2025 USA Fellows
United States Artists (USA), a national arts-funding organization based in Chicago, has announced the 2025 cohort of its USA Fellows program.
Launched in 2006, the program provides $50,000 unrestricted cash awards as well as financial planning and other professional services to artists working in the disciplines of architecture and design, craft, dance, film, media, music, theater and performance, traditional arts, visual art, and writing. This year’s recipients include 50 artists and collectives across 10 disciplines in 21 U.S. states, and represent four native Hawaiian and 12 Indigenous artists and collaboratives.
This year’s cohort includes Leah Wulfman (mixed reality architect; Salt Lake City); Aspen Golann (woodworker; Rollinsford, New Hampshire); Anna Martine Whitehead (interdisciplinary performance-based artist; Chicago); Makini (choreographer and world builder; Durham, North Carolina); Rea Tajiri (interdisciplinary artist; Philadelphia); Rashaad Newsome (multidisciplinary artist; Oakland, California); Liz Phillips (interactive sound artist; Sunnyside, New York); Shayok Misha Chowdhury (writer and director; Brooklyn, New York), Aimee Nezhukumatathil (poet, essayist, and educator; Oxford, Mississippi); Kahlil Robert Irving (sculptor; St. Louis); and Dalani Tanahy (barkcloth practitioner; Makaha, Hawai'i).
“We are honored to announce the 2025 USA Fellowship with this wonderfully skilled and multifaceted group of fellows,” said United Stats Artists president and CEO Judilee Reed. “Much like this cohort, our support through the USA Fellowship is enduring and manifold, extending beyond a momentary and monetary contribution to establish a durable and sustainable relationship that artists may draw on at each stage of their careers.”
