The Arcus Foundation in New York City has announced the appointment of DANI MARTINEZ as U.S. social justice program director. Martinez previously worked at Borealis Philanthropy, where she co-created and subsequently led the Emerging LGBTQ Leaders of Color Fund. She also previously served as a program assistant at NEO Philanthropy’s Four Freedoms Fund.
Arnold Ventures has announced the selection of KEVIN RING as the new vice president of criminal justice advocacy, effective July 10. Ring is president of Families Against Mandatory Minimums.
The Fetzer Institute in Kalamazoo, Michigan, has announced the election of ANNA SUN to its board of trustees. An associate professor of religious studies and sociology at Duke University, Sun focuses her research on Confucianism and contemporary Chinese religious life.
The Foundation for Child Development in New York City has announced the appointment of MARY GRECCO as vice president of finance and administration. Grecco previously served as CEO and vice president of operations for the Overbrook Foundation.
Girl Scouts of the USA has announced the appointment of DIANA BEINART as general counsel. Beinart succeeds the Hon. JENNIFER L. ROCHON, who was recently appointed judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Beinart previously worked with the New York City Department of Finance.
Howard University in Washington, D.C., has announced the selection of BEN VINSON as president of the university. Vinson currently is provost, executive vice president, and Hiram C. Haydn professor of history at Case Western Reserve University. He previously served on the faculties of Barnard College and Penn State University before joining Johns Hopkins University as a professor of history and founding director of its Center for Africana Studies. An accomplished historian of Latin America, he is the recipient of the 2019 Howard F. Cline Book Prize in Mexican History for his book Before Mestizaje: The Frontiers of Race and Caste in Colonial Mexico.
The Joyful Heart Foundation in New York City has announced the selection of ROBYN MAZUR as executive director. Mazur was previously senior director of national training and technical assistance at the Center for Justice Innovation.
Lutheran Services in America has announced the appointment of two new board members. BILL ANDREWS served as a board member at the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. REV. BARBARA LUND is the senior director for operations and innovation for the Evangelical Lutheran Church Service and Justice Home Area.
The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida, has announced the appointment of ANKE VAN WAGENBERG as the Harold and Anne Berkley Smith Senior Curator of American and European Art. Previously, Van Wagenberg has held curatorial and research positions at the National Gallery of Art, the Netherlands Institute for Art History, and the Walters Art Museum.
United States Artists has announced the appointment of RACHEL DENNY as its director of advancement. Denny previously served as director of development at the Sundance Institute, where she was responsible for raising more than $20 million annually.
