The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in Stanford, California, has announced the appointment of JORGE A. AGUILAR to its board of directors. Currently the superintendent of the Sacramento City Unified School District, Aguilar previously has served as associate superintendent in Fresno Unified School District and associate vice chancellor for educational and community partnerships and special assistant to the chancellor at the University of California, Merced.

The Lumina Foundation in Indianapolis has announced the selection of ERIN ARCHER as chief financial officer. Archer previously served as chief financial officer and vice president of finance and operations at Sarah Lawrence College, treasurer at Syracuse University, and treasurer and director of investments at DePaul University.

The Nellie Mae Education Foundation in Quincy, Massachusetts, has announced the selection of GISELE C. SHORTER as president and CEO. Shorter previously served as director of national education strategy at the Raikes Foundation.

The Robert Sterling Clark Foundation in New York City has announced the election of MAJA D. HAZELL and ANDREW RICH to its board of directors. The foundation also named DIAHANN BILLINGS-BURFORD as board chair. Hazell is managing director and head of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the D.E. Shaw Group, a global investment and technology development firm. Rich is dean of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership and professor of political science at the City College of New York. Billings-Burford is the CEO of RISE, a national nonprofit that uses sports to help eliminate racism, champion social justice, and improve race relations.

Americares in Stamford, Connecticut, has announced the election of MARTI NOXON to its board of directors. Noxon is a TV writer and producer; among her most recent projects as creator-showrunner are the critically acclaimed series “Sharp Objects,” “Dietland,” and the Peabody Award-winning first season of “UnREAL.”

Funders for Housing and Opportunity in Washington, D.C., has announced the appointment of ELISA HARRIGAN as policy strategist and CHRISTINA OSTMEYER as narrative strategist. Both are new positions created to expand the organization’s capacity to dismantle racial inequities, repair harms, and restructure systems to ensure equitable housing and life outcomes for all people.

Grantmakers for Education in Portland, Oregon, has announced the selection of NICOLE RODRIGUEZ LEACH as executive director. Rodriguez Leach has served as a professor, executive advisor, director of the Aprendes Foundation, and vice president of Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation.

Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida, has announced the promotion of TRACI SIMONSEN to chief philanthropy officer of Jupiter Medical Center Foundation. Simonsen joined the foundation in June 2022 as associate vice president of philanthropy.

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in New York City has announced the election of CHARLES A. SMITH to its board of directors. Smith is executive vice president and chief risk officer at Morgan Stanley and previously served as managing director and head of business development for the firm’s Institutional Securities Group.

The Los Angeles Parks Foundation has announced the selection of ANTHONY BUDROVICH as executive director. For the past eight years, Budrovich has served as president and CEO of the Catalina Island Conservancy.

The Denver-based Morris Animal Foundation has announced the appointment of AMY BAILEY as chief marketing officer. Bailey previously held marketing positions at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
