The Meyer Memorial Trust in Portland, Oregon, has announced the departure of RUKAIYAH ADAMS. Adams was chief investment officer at Meyer and started at the organization in 2014. Before joining Meyer, she was director of investment management at The Standard, where she oversaw its capital markets fund.
The Phoenix-based Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has announced the appointment of STEVE ZABILSKI as president and CEO, effective April 1, 2023. In addition, the board has appointed three new trustees: LORI HIGUERA, assistant general counsel–employment at Freeport-McMoRan; PAUL MULLIGAN, president and CEO of Catholic Charities Community Services; and ED ZUERCHER, former Phoenix City manager and managing director, government and public sector, for Ernst & Young.
Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll) in Lowell, Massachusetts, has announced the appointment of ALMA GARCIA as regional director for its EforAll/EparaTodos communities, including greater Worcester, Holyoke, Lynn, and Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts; Longmont, Colorado; the northwest region of Arkansas; and Rhode Island.
The Holocaust Museum LA has announced the appointment of OMAR SHARIF, JR. as chief advancement officer. Sharif previously served as a fundraiser for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, helping to complete its $388 million capital campaign. In his new role, Sharif will lead the development and communications strategy.
Partners In Health (PIH) has announced the retirement of AGNES BINAGWAHO, vice chancellor of the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) in Rwanda. With funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates and Cummings foundations, PIH launched the UGHE initiative in 2015 in collaboration with the Rwandan government. The university is located in Burera District, roughly 80 miles north of the nation’s capital, Kigali. Binagwaho is a pediatrician who has served the Rwandan health sector in various high-level government positions, as the executive secretary of its National AIDS Control Commission, permanent secretary of the ministry of health, and as minister of health for five years.
The Pew Charitable Trusts has announced that DONNA FRISBY-GREENWOOD will join the organization as vice president for its Philadelphia programs, effective October 3. In this role, Frisby-Greenwood will lead the organization’s work across the region to advance critical public policy solutions, support local social services organizations, and foster a vibrant civic and cultural life.
Philanthropy West Virginia has announced the appointment of JENNIE SMITH-PEERS as its new president and CEO. Smith-Peers was previously with Iona Senior Services in Washington, D.C., where she has served as the director of development and communications for five years.
