					Alabama
The East Alabama Community Foundation (EACF), an affiliate of the Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF), has announced the opening of its new location in Opelika. Established in 2007, EACF became a CACF affiliate earlier this year.
California
The Sacramento Region Community Foundation has announced an anonymous grant of $1,500 from its donor-advised Fantastic Fund to Lavender Library. The volunteer-led library offers a welcoming, safe gathering place for members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies to connect through book clubs, open mic nights, craft markets, and support groups.
Florida
The Community Foundation of North Florida in Tallahassee has announced six grants totaling $207,390 from its 2024 Knight Foundation Fund—annually supported by the James L. Knight Foundation. Recipients include the Council on Cultural Arts, the Greater Apalachee Ridge Estates, the Knight Creative Communities, the North Florida Community Development Corporation, the South City Foundation, and the Village Square.
Indiana
The Central Indiana Community Foundation has announced that its Central Indiana Senior Fund awarded grants totaling $1,032,000 to 51 organizations serving seniors in the region. The fund invests in organizations and programs that serve seniors—ages 55 and older—who have low- to moderate-income or experience isolation from community resources and opportunities. Recipients include Chin Community of Indiana, He Cares, Silver Citizens, and Ladies Under Construction.
Iowa
The Jasper Community Foundation has awarded $200,000 to the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in support of the institution’s $4 million Legacy Plaza Greenspace project. Awarded to the DMACC Foundation, the gift will support development of a community gathering space that will include artwork, a walking path, and a pavilion at the school’s Newton campus.
Louisiana
Impact 100, an initiative of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, awarded a $100,000 grant to the Health and Education Alliance of Louisiana. Impact 100, now in its 12th year, is a group of more than 100 local women who commit $1,100 each for the purpose of making a single transformative grant to a local nonprofit each year. Recipients use the grant to deepen their impact and expand their network of supporters. Since its inaugural year, Impact 100 has granted more than $1.3 million to nonprofits across the region.
North Carolina
The North Carolina Community Foundation has announced a $7.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment in support of the foundation’s long-term Disaster Relief Fund in the wake of the unprecedented devastation in western North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene. The fund will provide grants to eligible organizations supporting recovery needs over the months and years ahead in western North Carolina communities. To be disbursed in early 2025, the funding will help address long-term recovery and resiliency, meet needs that are not being addressed by other resources, and build stronger and more prepared communities.
Texas
Midland-based Permian Basin Area Foundation has announced grants totaling $2,235,196 to nonprofit organizations serving west Texans during its fall community grant cycle.
