The Kenneth Rainin Foundation in Oakland, California, has announced the promotion of two staff members: ALEXANDRIA FEATHERSTON-GOMEZ was promoted to grants officer and VICTORIA POZZATO was promoted to investment operations analyst. Featherston-Gomez joined the foundation in 2017 and has worked on the grants management team since 2020. Pozzato joined the foundation’s investment team in 2019. Both positions are vital to the foundation’s mission to help artists thrive, promote early childhood literacy, and support inflammatory bowel disease research.
The Conservation Lands Foundation in Durango, Colorado, has announced the election of ED NORTON, SR., to the position of trustee emeritus on its board of trustees. Norton was founding chairman of the board. The foundation also announced the election of MARK HEADLEY as the new board chair and HILARY TOMPKINS, CHRIS KILLINGSWORTH, and GREG MOORE as the vice chairs. Trustees also approved the addition of BRIAN VALLO to the board.
The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP) in Washington D.C., has announced the appointment of executive leader MARIA DE LA CRUZ to the newly created position of vice president and chief external affairs officer. De la Cruz will oversee NCRP’s strategic development, communications, and marketing efforts. She also will serve on NCRP’s leadership team. Before joining NCRP, De la Cruz worked at Headwaters Foundation for Justice in several roles, most recently as president.
The Tent Partnership for Refugees (Tent), which works to help integrate refugees into their new communities, has announced the selection of HAIWEN LU LANGWORTH as its global director of communications and marketing. Langworth succeeds VERONICA ROSSINI, who was recently promoted to vice president for Europe.
The University of North Carolina School of Arts has announced the election of four new officers, a new non-officer member of the executive committee, and six new members to its board of directors. The new officers are DAVID BROUGHTON, president, WILLIAM R. “BILL”” WATSON, vice president; MELINDA “MINDI” MUELLER, assistant treasurer; and ERIN JONES ADAMS, secretary. The new non-officer member of the executive committee is JIM RUFFIN. The six new board members are JOSEPH P. “JOE” LOGAN, SCOTT CAWOOD, LAURA RAMSAY, KELLEY KENNER-PATRIDGE, HOWARD UPCHURCH, and MEADE WILLIS.
