The Brinson Foundation in Chicago has announced the selection of MICHAEL BARBER as a senior program officer. Barber previously was a member of the program team with the Spencer Foundation for six years, serving as a learning consultant, where he partnered with district and school leaders in Chicago Public Schools to connect research with practice.
Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP) in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, has announced that PAUL BUSCH, its president and CEO, will retire in April, 2023. Busch has spent nearly 15 years in a leadership role at the organization, including the past five as CEO. Current MACP vice president and general counsel HEATHER KUKLA will become president and CEO. Busch will continue to serve on MACP’s board of directors.
The William G. and Marie Selby Foundation in Sarasota, Florida, has announced the addition of SUSIE BOWIE as its next CEO, effective March 1, 2023. CAROL BUTERA, the foundation’s current CEO, will retire in April 2023. Since 2016, Bowie has served as executive director of the Manatee Community Foundation and previously was vice president of philanthropic education and marketing at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.
The Nonprofit Finance Fund in New York City has announced several additions to its board of directors. New board members include BRENDA LOYA, KRIS PUTNAM-WALKERLY, GREGORY ROBINSON, and JOE SILVER. Loya is Amalgamated Bank’s national director of community development finance; Putnam-Walkerly is president of Putnam Consulting Group; Robinson is a senior director and head of market intelligence at Moody’s Analytics’ Central Product Group; and Silver is CFO of Submittable, a social impact software platform.
The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., has announced the appointment of JONATHAN P. BINSTOCK as its Vradenburg Director and CEO, effective March 1, 2023. For the past eight years, Binstock has served as the Mary W. and Donald R. Clark Director of the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester in New York. Binstock will succeed DOROTHY KOSINSKI, who is stepping down after 15 years of leadership.
The Travis Mills Foundation in Rome, Maine, has announced that HEATHER HEMPHILL, its CFO, has been appointed the foundation’s new executive director. Hemphill will oversee the day-to-day operations of the foundation and its programming, which includes week-long experiences on site in Maine for “recalibrated veterans” and their families to participate in adaptive sports, art, and other activities.
The United Jewish Appeal-Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York. (UJA-Federation New York) has announced the selection of LUZ LIEBESKIND as its new chief financial officer. She succeeds IRVIN ROSENTHAL, who is retiring after more than 22 years in the role. Since 2008, Liebeskind served as CFO of RiverSpring Living, a nonprofit dedicated to helping older adults, which operates the Hebrew Home at Riverdale, middle-income independent living, affordable senior housing communities, and a managed long-term care plan.
